Work began on Monday, May 5, at the Giulio Chierici Sports Arena, one of the symbolic buildings for sports in the Municipality of Tolentino and a vital venue for socialization, gathering, and inclusion, especially for young people. The site opening was attended by Mayor Mauro Sclavi with Deputy Mayor Alessia Pupo, the project manager Engineer Angelo Marzulli, and representatives from the contracted company.
The project, which has an estimated duration of 120 days, involves a total investment of €900,000 funded through the “Sport e Periferie” tender and municipal funds. Following a public tender, the execution of the works was entrusted to the company Due Punto Tre Costruzioni Generali srl, with Eng. Katiuscia Faraoni as RUP (Sole Project Manager) in collaboration with Arch. Eleonora Grilli from the Public Works office.
The energy efficiency measures will include the installation of thermal insulation panels on the facades and roof, the replacement of all fixtures, as well as the installation of a photovoltaic system, relamping, and a new solar thermal system. Plans also include sanding the parquet flooring, purchasing new furnishings for the locker rooms and playing field, and the removal of architectural barriers.
“Through careful planning by the public works and sports offices, activities have not been interrupted, and various events will continue by utilizing other city facilities thanks to a synergy with the various operators. The redevelopment of the sports arena is part of the regeneration and enhancement plan for the city’s sports facilities, as repeatedly announced by the Sclavi administration.”
“We have already returned the Ciommei tensile structure to the city, and we are now proceeding with the project for the skate park and the design of the stadium gym. This is a significant plan that demonstrates our commitment to sports, our youth, and the care of our city’s precious heritage. We are also working on the variation for the sports park in the Sticchi/Ributino area for a comprehensive arrangement of the zone where new sports facilities will be located in the future,” conclude the Mayor and Deputy Mayor Pupo.
